The hate speech row involving the irrepressible MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi is snowballing into a major controversy with the major political players- Congress, BJP and MIM besides a string of political outfits unleashing a war of words against each other. While, the Congress accuses MIM of whipping up communal hysteria with the likes of Akbaruddin, the MIM accuse Congress of conspiring with BJP. But the BJP found the two parties’ stance skewed and flayed the Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government for soft-pedalling the issue

Hyderabad: The AMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government and BJP had conspired to target MIM party and want to disturb the peace in the city.
At a party meeting held at Darusalam , Owaisi said that they would follow the law and will fight in the court of law against the conspiracies. He called upon his partymen to expose the conspiracy of the government and its failures to the people.
He said that he had already informed the police commissioner about the conspiracy to disturb peace in the city and said that he would expose the conspiracy on January 24 at a mass meeting. Asad predicted that the general elections would come much ahead of 2014 and that this time the polling percentage would be 100 per cent. He called upon the party rank and file to be ready to face the elections.
Asad said though the case pertaining to alleged objectionable remarks reportedly made by Akbar was in courts, the media started trial. He questioned why media doesn’t show hate speeches of right wing outfits and many other BJP public representatives which are available on YouTube. Why only minority leaders are shown as hate mongers and not the right wing political leaders?, he questioned.
Targetting the Chief Minister, Asad said Kiran Kumar Reddy had failed as a leader and the Congress party had lost about 50 MLAs and 2 MPs since Kiran became the Chief Minister. The government had imposed a burden of Rs 10,000 crore on common man in the name of FSA which is going to increase more in coming days. He called upon the party workers to expose these failures to common man.
Interestingly, he praised TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu as a good administrator and powerful Chief Minister and said when such a powerful personality can be defeated by people, Kiran Kumar Reddy was nothing and he will have to face the wrath of common man.
MIM chief said he will strengthen the party across the state and hold meetings in every district. Reiterating that they were not against any community Owaisi said he wanted minorities and backward classes to stand against the conspiracies and defeat them with political power. He said Akbaruddin Owaisi had cancelled his appointments with doctors in London and returned to India because of these cases. Akbaruddin is going through painful health conditions since the murder attempt on him.
Meanwhile petition filed by Mangalhat corporator Raja Singh and advocate Sagar in the Nampally court was posted to Tuesday. Petitioners said as per section 295(A) of Indian Penal Code no permission is necessary to prosecute MLA Akbaruddin and a earlier Supreme court order also states the same which can be submitted on Tuesday. Accepting their request court posted the matter to Tuesday.
DGP ducks on action against Akbar
CID likely to investigate the case
Hyderabad: Even as more and more complaints are pouring in against MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, Director General of Police (DGP) V Dinesh Reddy refused to speak on the future course of action. Instead, the DGP asked the mediapersons to contact the investigating officer to find out the future course of action.
He spoke to media after inaugurating the pilot project of the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network and Systems at Madhapur police station on Monday. It may be recalled the DGP has said the other day that prima facie it appears Akbaruddin had committed the offence alleged and they would take Interpol help if necessary to arrest the MIM MLA if he refuses to cooperate.
But when Akbaruddin has arrived in Hyderabad and pleaded for time on the pretext of health grounds only to borrow time to approach the High Court, the DGP has been refusing to speak. The DGP almost lost his cool when he was asked time and again what would be the next move of the police against Akbaruddin.
He said the next move would be decided at the investigation officer level which was far below his level. However, the DGP said all the cases would be clubbed into one since the offence committed as alleged by the complainants was same and one agency would investigate the case. In all probability, Crime Investigation Department (CID) would be entrusted with the investigation into the case, he said.
